An XML Hootinanny

“Phil, just what the hell is a feed?”

I'm glad you asked!  The worst of it is that a feed is certain kind of XML document.

“Phil, just what the hell is an XML document?”

All that's important is that it's the gasoline that makes this Internet thing go.  A feed is a file located on this site that you can give to your favorite feed reader (stay with me, I'll explain) which will let you know when I update, give you an alternative way to read this site and allow you to take this site with you on your iPod, PDA or cellphone.  Cool, huh?

To get you started with a feed reader, I swear by NetNewsWire for the Mac.  For Windows, I hear FeedDemon ain't half bad.  Mac users, watch for feed support coming in Safari 2.0 which will be free with Mac OS X 10.4.  Using the info at those sites, and this invaluable guide written by Mezzoblue's Dave Shea you'll be well on your way to being feedlicious.

Here at jetless.org, we offer a number of feeds for your pleasure:

Nab the URLs of your choosing, stick them in your feed reader and stay up to date with the hijinks around these here parts.
